Acceptance of Terms

By accessing or using Slate AI you confirm that you have read, understood, and agree to be bound by these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, you must not use the Service.

These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you and Slate AI. They may be updated from time to time; your continued use of the Service after updates are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

Eligibility

You must be at least 16 years old to create an account and use Slate AI. By registering, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement. If you are under 18, you represent that you have your parent's or legal guardian's permission to use the Service.

The Service is not available in jurisdictions where it is prohibited by law. By using Slate AI you represent that your use does not violate any applicable laws or regulations in your jurisdiction.

Your Account

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to:

• Provide accurate, current, and complete information during registration
• Keep your email address and password up to date and secure
• Notify us immediately of any unauthorised use of your account at [email protected]
• Not share your account with any other person or allow others to access it
• Not create more than one account per person without our explicit written permission

We are not liable for any loss or damage arising from your failure to comply with these obligations.

Credits & Payments

Credits are the in-platform currency used to generate AI images, videos, and audio. Credits are purchased via one-time transactions and are non-transferable between accounts.

No expiry. Purchased credits do not expire and remain in your account indefinitely, provided your account remains active and in good standing.

Non-refundable. All credit purchases are final and non-refundable, except as required by applicable consumer protection law or where a technical failure on our part results in credits being incorrectly deducted. In the event of a failed generation caused by a technical error on our side, credits consumed by that generation will be automatically refunded to your account balance.

Pricing. Credit prices are as listed on the Pricing page at the time of purchase. We reserve the right to change pricing at any time; price changes do not affect credits already purchased.

Payment processing. Payments are handled by a third-party payment processor. By completing a purchase you agree to their terms and acknowledge that we do not store your payment card details.

Acceptable Use

You agree to use Slate AI only for lawful purposes and in a manner that does not infringe the rights of others or restrict anyone else's use and enjoyment of the Service. The following are strictly prohibited:

• Creating, uploading, or generating content that is illegal, defamatory, obscene, threatening, or abusive
• Generating content that sexualises minors in any way
• Creating content that infringes the intellectual property rights of any third party, including using reference images of real people without their consent
• Generating deepfake or synthetic media that is designed to deceive, defraud, or defame real individuals
• Using the Service to create content intended to spread misinformation, propaganda, or hate speech
• Attempting to reverse-engineer, decompile, or otherwise extract the source code of the platform
• Scraping, crawling, or using automated tools to access the Service at scale without our written permission
• Reselling, sublicensing, or redistributing access to the Service or credits without our explicit written consent
• Using the Service in any way that could damage, disable, overburden, or impair our infrastructure
• Attempting to circumvent any security, rate-limiting, or access-control features of the platform

Intellectual Property

Our platform. All software, design, trademarks, trade names, logos, and other intellectual property comprising the Slate AI platform are owned by or licensed to us. Nothing in these Terms grants you any right to use our intellectual property beyond the limited licence to use the Service as described here.

Generated content. Subject to your compliance with these Terms and full payment of applicable credits, we grant you a non-exclusive, worldwide licence to use, reproduce, modify, distribute, and create derivative works from the AI-generated images and videos produced through your use of the Service for both personal and commercial purposes.

You acknowledge that AI-generated output may not be eligible for copyright protection in all jurisdictions and that similar outputs may be generated for other users. We make no warranty regarding the uniqueness of generated content.

Your Content

You retain ownership of any original content you upload to the platform, including reference images, scripts, and prompts ("User Content"). By uploading User Content you grant us a limited, non-exclusive licence to store, process, and transmit it solely to provide and improve the Service.

You represent and warrant that:

• You own or have the necessary rights and permissions to all User Content you upload
• Your User Content does not violate any third-party intellectual property, privacy, or publicity rights
• Your User Content complies with these Terms and all applicable laws

We reserve the right to remove any User Content that violates these Terms without notice.

Service Availability

We aim to provide continuous access to Slate AI but do not guarantee uninterrupted availability. The Service may be temporarily unavailable due to scheduled maintenance, unplanned outages, or factors outside our control.

We reserve the right to modify, suspend, or discontinue any feature of the Service at any time, with or without notice. We are not liable to you or any third party for any modification, suspension, or discontinuation of the Service, provided we take reasonable steps to notify you of significant changes in advance.

Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied. To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, we disclaim all warranties, including implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose, and non-infringement.

We do not warrant that the Service will be error-free, that generated content will meet your expectations, or that defects will be corrected. AI-generated content is probabilistic in nature; we cannot guarantee specific outcomes, visual quality, or consistency beyond the features described on our platform.

Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Slate AI shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages — including loss of profits, data, goodwill, or business opportunities — arising out of or in connection with your use of the Service.

Our total aggregate liability to you for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Service shall not exceed the greater of: (a) the total amount of credits you paid for in the twelve months preceding the claim, or (b) €50.

Some jurisdictions do not allow the exclusion of certain warranties or limitation of liability, so the above may not apply to you in full.

Termination

By you. You may close your account at any time by contacting us at [email protected]. Upon account closure, your remaining credit balance will be forfeited unless otherwise required by applicable law.

By us. We may suspend or terminate your account immediately, without prior notice or liability, if you breach these Terms or if we believe your use poses a risk to the platform, other users, or third parties. We may also terminate accounts that have been inactive for more than 24 consecutive months after providing reasonable notice.

Upon termination, your right to use the Service ceases immediately. Sections covering intellectual property, disclaimer of warranties, limitation of liability, and governing law survive termination.

Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with applicable law. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of the Service that cannot be resolved informally will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the competent courts of the country in which Slate AI is registered.

If you are a consumer resident in the European Union, you also have the right to use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes to These Terms

We reserve the right to modify these Terms at any time. We will provide at least 14 days' notice of material changes by email or by displaying a prominent notice within the platform. The updated Terms will be identified by a revised "Last updated" date at the top of this page.

If you do not agree to the revised Terms, you must stop using the Service before the effective date of the changes. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the new Terms.
